Odoo
Odoo is an open source business platform with a single unified database across 80+ official modules, from CRM and accounting to manufacturing and inventory. Community edition is free and self-hostable under LGPL; Enterprise adds Studio, full accounting reports, and several advanced apps for a per-user fee.
Zoho One
Zoho One is a proprietary, cloud-only suite that bundles 45+ individual Zoho apps (CRM, Books, Inventory, People, Desk, and more) under one subscription. Each app keeps its own data model and syncs with the others. There is no self-hosting and no source code access, and pricing runs per user per month on annual billing.
Odoo vs Zoho One, Dimension by Dimension
Architecture
Odoo is a unified ERP: one database drives sales, inventory, accounting, and manufacturing from the same transaction. Zoho One is a bundle of separate best-of-breed apps that integrate with each other, which gives flexibility to swap individual tools but means data lives in multiple places.
Manufacturing
Odoo wins outright here. It has native bills of materials, work orders, and production scheduling (the fuller planning tools sit behind Enterprise). Zoho has no dedicated manufacturing or MRP product, so businesses that make physical goods generally look elsewhere.
CRM depth
Zoho wins on standalone CRM strength. Zoho CRM is a long-established, widely used product with deep sales automation and its own AI assistant, Zia, for lead scoring. Odoo CRM is solid and improving but is not purpose-built to the same degree as a dedicated CRM product.
Deployment and cost
Zoho is zero-ops: no servers to manage, and the All Employee plan is an affordable way to get dozens of apps at once. Odoo lets you self-host on your own infrastructure, which suits teams that want control over data location and total cost at scale, at the price of managing that infrastructure yourself.
Choose Odoo if
- You need manufacturing, work orders, or production planning
- You want a single database instead of syncing data between separate apps
- You want the option to self-host or run on-premise
Choose Zoho One if
- You want a fully managed cloud suite with zero infrastructure to run
- You need best-in-class standalone CRM and are fine with per-app sync instead of one database
- You want the lowest-effort way to get dozens of business apps under one subscription
If you like the idea of a unified ERP with real manufacturing depth but want a fully open source model instead of Odoo's Enterprise gate, Yukti is built on Odoo's foundation with no proprietary feature split: every module, including manufacturing, is in the open source edition. It adds 14 purpose-built AI modules with provider-agnostic AI, a layer neither Odoo's native assistant nor Zoho's Zia offers, since both are tied to their own vendor's infrastructure.

Common Questions
Does Zoho have a manufacturing or MRP module?
No. Zoho One's 45+ apps cover sales, marketing, service, finance, HR, and operations, but there is no dedicated bill of materials, work order, or production scheduling product. Businesses that manufacture physical goods typically need Odoo, ERPNext, or a similar ERP instead.
Is Zoho cheaper than Odoo?
It depends on which Odoo tier you compare against. Zoho One's Flexible User plan runs $90/user/month with no self-hosting option. Odoo Community is free to self-host, and Odoo Enterprise pricing is separate per app. Total cost depends heavily on how many apps and users each business needs.
Can I self-host Zoho like I can with Odoo?
No. Zoho is cloud-only SaaS with no source code access and no self-hosted or on-premise option. Odoo Community can be self-hosted under its LGPL license, and the full feature set requires an Enterprise license either way.
Which has better AI?
Both have real AI features tied to their own infrastructure: Odoo's AI assistant and agents (Odoo 19, mostly Enterprise) and Zoho's Zia across the Zoho suite. Neither lets you choose your own AI provider, which is the gap Yukti's provider-agnostic AI modules are built to fill.
