ERP Software for Dutch Businesses

The Netherlands offers a business-friendly regulatory environment with clear accounting standards and a progressive approach to digital compliance. Dutch businesses operate under Dutch GAAP as codified in Book 2 of the Burgerlijk Wetboek (Dutch Civil Code), with larger or publicly listed companies required to apply IFRS. The guidelines from the Raad voor de Jaarverslaggeving (Dutch Accounting Standards Board) provide detailed interpretation of the statutory requirements. Yukti supports both Dutch GAAP and IFRS configurations, handling the disclosure and presentation differences between the two frameworks.

Business Environment in Netherlands

B2G e-invoicing has been mandatory in the Netherlands since January 2019. All suppliers to Dutch public sector entities must transmit invoices electronically via the Peppol or Digipoort networks. While B2B e-invoicing is not yet legally required, the EU ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) directive adopted in March 2025 will mandate cross-border B2B e-invoicing across the EU by July 2030. The Netherlands is expected to align its domestic B2B requirements with the ViDA timeline. Yukti already supports Peppol-based e-invoicing for B2G transactions and is prepared for the transition to mandatory B2B e-invoicing under ViDA.

Dutch VAT (BTW) applies at a standard rate of 21% and a reduced rate of 9% for food, water, medicines, books, and other specified goods and services. Zero-rated supplies include intra-EU deliveries and exports. The Netherlands uses a quarterly VAT return filing cycle for most businesses, with monthly filing required for larger companies. Yukti calculates BTW correctly for all transaction types and generates the data needed for filing with the Belastingdienst (Dutch Tax Authority).

The Netherlands is a gateway for international business in Europe, with many holding companies, regional headquarters, and distribution centers. Transfer pricing documentation, country-by-country reporting, and the Dutch fiscal unity regime for corporate groups are all relevant for multinational operations. Yukti supports intercompany transaction management and generates the transfer pricing documentation required under Dutch and OECD guidelines.

Payroll in the Netherlands involves income tax withholding (loonbelasting), social insurance premiums (volksverzekeringen and werknemersverzekeringen), and pension contributions. The workkostenregeling (WKR) governs tax-free allowances and benefits in kind. Yukti automates payroll calculations and generates the loonaangifte (payroll tax return) for submission to the Belastingdienst.
